Lopez's own website (http://www.barrylopez.com) is also quite interesting. I found the picture below there. Taken during one of Lopez's field research expeditions to Alaska, it is of the writer with one of his "wild animals," a heavily-sedated female wolf. She looks pretty awake to me.
