Correction to The World Being Made
Correction: While writing the post "The World Being Made," I had Teddy Roosevelt on my mind from the series "The National Parks." I stated that the Roosevelt family had owned much of the land around Moose, Wyoming. Although T. Roosevelt had made several forays into the West, his family's land holdings were in the eastern part of the U.S. The family that owns land near Moose, and had owned much of the land in that area for private retreat and recreation, was the Rockefeller family. It is my understaning that the Rockefellers have donated much of their Wyoming estate to the National Park Service within the last few years so that those lands could be preserved in common for all the people.
